The 2024 J&J Head of the Class Sale will be a live auction with online bidding through CCI.Live held at the J&J Sale headquarters at 22755 N. Douglas, Orlando, Oklahoma at the big red barn on top of the hill on the east side. We are honored to be joined in this sale by guest consignors Ryan Callahan of C&C Cattle Company, and Will Shelby of Shelby Cattle Company. By joining forces, this offering not only features Angus and Charolais female prospects with the potential to be major national show contenders, but also club calf genetics, steer prospects and embryos packages representing unique opportunities. This is a small offering but an elite set of cattle that represent the proven cow families which have been highly successful for us in the show ring over the past decade. We are offering the opportunity to purchase full sibs to the dam of the Reserve Champion Bred & Owned Angus heifer from the 2021 NJAS. Produce of the 2022 Cattlemen’s Congress Reserve Champion Charolais female. Produce of the Supreme Champion Bred & Owned Heifer at the 2018 Oklahoma Youth Expo. Several direct daughters and embryo packages from the famed “JoJo,” the 2014 AICA National Champion Charolais female. These are our best fall borns, nothing has been held back. As a group they are powerfully made, phenotypically rich and pedigree proven.
Spring is always an exciting time in the cattle business and with robust cattle prices now and in the foreseeable future, April 28th will be an opportunity to take inventory of embryos and breeding females with the potential to take your operation to the next level. Pedigrees can be viewed by lot number. Videos will be available at least a week before the sale. Seize the opportunity to stop by J&J to take a look anytime its convenient during the month of April. We look forward to showing you this group of cattle and welcome your visit. The cattle selling will be penned near the sale barn to make them easy to evaluate. We have coordinated this event so that ownership deadlines for both Charolais and Angus Junior National Shows can be easily met. Please give me a call if I can help. Mark Johnson 405 880 1902 |
Angus Heifer, J&J Frontier Gal 395, AAA: 20894805, DOB: 8/26/23, PVF Insight x EXAR Frontier Gal 5906. Produced by a 2016 NJAS division champion, 395 earns the distinction of being named lot 1 based on her unique combination of good looks, extra power and sleek front end. Tremendous hair, quiet disposition, sound as a cat, and backed by the very special Frontier Gal cow family. This heifer is a full sib to the dam of the J&J Frontier Gal 570, many time champion who was the Reserve Champion Bred & Owned Female of the 2021 NJAS.
Charolais Heifer, J&J Angelina 398, AICA: EF1350469, DOB: 9/17/23, Redemption x 3R’s Angelina 343, aka “JoJo”. This heifer is robust, big hipped and athletic. High neck-to-shoulder attachment and has big time potential to win at the highest level. Her dam won Denver, the American Royal and was Supreme at the Tulsa State Fair.
Angus Heifer, J&J Frontier Gal 399, AAA: 20894803, DOB: 9/22/23, Fundamental x J&J Frontier Gal 911. Lot 5’s dam won the calf division in both the Junior and Open shows at the 2019 American Royal. This heifer has extra bone, width and body, and is super sound. A crossover mating to EXAR Fundamental, the 2020 NAILE Champion resulted in an outstanding combination of genetic values as well. This heifer is equipped to compete in the NJAS P&G show and will prove to be an outstanding cow.
Charolais Heifer, J&J ECP Angelina 32, AICA: EF1350473, DOB: 10/10/23, WC Southern Comfort x J&J ECP Angelina 2006. The dam of lot 6 was Reserve at the 2022 Cattlemen’s Congress and earned the nickname “Big Booty Judy” early in life because of her exceptional power and stoutness of hip. This heifer has the same big square hip and neat look. If you are looking for a heifer to show and then produce sale topping bulls or crossover into club calf production, lot 6 is fully equipped to do it!

Charolais Heifer, J&J Angelina 36, AICA: EF1350470, DOB: 10/20/23, WC Southern Comfort x JoJo. Near flawless skeletal build, sleek front end and well balanced. This heifer is still green and young but has the bone and power, and gets better each day. Study this heifer closely on sale day, she is a true sleeper. Southern Comfort semen is extremely limited in supply, his daughters in this sale are genetically unique!
Angus Heifer, J&J Empress 391, AAA: 20894804, DOB: 8/20/23, GAR Home Town x OSU Empress 1209. Stout built and impressive genetic tabulation. This heifer sells with the Certified Angus Beef logo and her registration paper as her Marbling and $G values exceed that criteria. The is the first natural calf produced by the high selling female from the 2022 OSU Cowboy Classic. This heifer has high upside as a cow and also to compete ring the NJAS P&G show.

Charolais Heifers, J&J Angelina 313, AICA: EF1350471, DOB: 12/11/23 & J&J Angelina 314, AICA: 1350472, DOB 12/14/23. Pair of December born embryo sibs. Direct daughters of JoJo by Southern Comfort. Extra power and muscle in both, attractive fronted, deep flanked and good. Young and good offering outcross genetics. Pictured is lot 11B 314

Angus Heifer, C&C Winnie 3231, AAA: 20888024, DOB: 10/06/23. EXAR Alternative x C&C Winnie 9201. The dam of lot 13 is an up-and-coming donor at Callahan Cattle Company, producing two daughters that averaged over $12,000. This early October prospect is not only exquisitely well-balanced, but she combines that with tremendous quality and structural correctness. She is also strong with regard to genotype, as she ranks in the top 25% for WW, CEM, Angle, RE, Fat, AxH, and $G.
Low Chi/Commercial Heifer, WGS Katie Babe 101A, DOB: 9/15/23. This impressive heifer is out of Will Shelby’s best cow and represents a tremendous buying opportunity. Her grand dam is the infamous Katie Babe, who was a national champion for Willow Springs Cattle Co. Here I Am is what many consider the best club calf bull there is. This heifer has huge foot and bone, and structure that is near perfect. That in combination with the length and set of her neck is extremely hard to come by. This one should light them up as a commercial or low Chi show heifer, however, you should probably be most excited about her breeding potential as a cow. She is a wise investment.
Angus Heifer, C&C Princess 3233, AAA: 20900843, DOB: 11/05/23. 24 Karat x C&C Princess 514. Lot 15 is a nice November prospect. As you evaluate this female you will note that she excels in overall eye appeal and presence while still being structurally correct. Her dam was a powerful First Class daughter that is a direct daughter of the famous Greens Princess 1012.
Crossbred Steer Prospect, Front and Center x 113, DOB: July, 2023. This Front and Center steer is out of one of Will Shelby’s best young, up and coming donors. This cow is a fun one to study, and her quality combination of muscle and build I think show in this July steer. He is as good built club calf as I have seen, and has true shape and muscle to back it. Factor in his striking look and color, and this one should be a lot of fun whether he is shown with hair or slicked.
